For custom PVD work, HonHo offers a gold layer generally from 0.03–0.10 μm+, with a standard 0.5 μm titanium nitride layer. The color requirement and agreed specification determine the quotation.

Start with the base metal: stainless steel, brass or 925 sterling silver. Then choose the surface finish and decorative details. These are separate decisions—a gold-colored piece may use any of these metals, and its coating specification matters as much as its appearance.

Electroplating options
For custom brass and sterling silver jewelry, gold electroplating can range from 0.03–5 μm. Underlayers and protective coatings can be quoted to suit the design and color-retention brief.
Ready stock or custom?
Custom coating ranges do not describe every ready-stock product. Confirm the specification for the selected item. For a new project, send the design, material, target color and quantity.

A little detail now makes comparing products easier.
Is gold-plated jewelry made from solid gold?
No. Gold plating is a surface layer applied over a base material. Check whether the listing specifies stainless steel, brass or sterling silver beneath that layer.
Is every stainless steel design 316L?
Do not assume so. Look for 316L in the product specification, or start with the 316L stainless steel collection and confirm the selected item’s grade.
Does the material name guarantee waterproof or hypoallergenic performance?
No. A material name alone does not establish how a finished product performs. Confirm the complete specification and any relevant test information for the item and intended market.
Can brass or sterling silver use PVD?
